Brief Description:
This is an excellent 8 day tour that departs every third Monday of the month throughout the year, except for December.

Every 1rst Monday of the month, except December. We will pick you up and drop you off at any place of your choice in Cape Town 07:30am



Day one
Leave Cape Town and travel along the Westcoast, check for whales along the route – through the Westcoast National Park – Postberg Wildflower – Reserve – visit Langebaan – the most picturesque lagoon in the country – lunch at Saldanha – visit the Bird Island in Umbertsbay – Cape Gannets Cormorants – Penguins – Cape Furseals – overnight at Lambertsbay.

Day two Following morning visit the Bird Island again and leave for Vredendal – Van Rhynsdorp – Garies Kammieskroen – visit Skilpad Wildflower Reserve – continue through to Springbok – the capital of Namaqualand for overnight.

Day three … Visit the Bluemine- earliest established open mine in South-Africa. Leave for Augrabies, en route visit the Goegap Natures Reserve – Hester Malan Wildflower Reserve – with its splendour of wildflowers – to Augrabies Falls – the six biggest in the world – visit Augrabies National Park – drive along the I(Iipspringer trail – view Moonrock and Mount Arorat - stay for a night in comfortable accommodation.

Day four Optional early morning gamedrive , to search for Springbok – Eland -Gemsbok – and Giraffe – enjoy this wonderful unusual environment , after lunch drive through vineyards and cotton fields through to Upington for overnight at the Protea Hotel on the shores of the Orange River.

Day five Leave for the Kalahari Gemsbok Park – through some of the most unusual eco systems of S.A., book into your rondavel before going on your first drive through the wilderness in search of the biggest and most beautiful lion in all Africa – the “Kalahari Lion” – the elusive Leopard – and the fastest animal on the Earth - the Cheetah. Overnight at Twee Revieren – with the African sky above, saturated with millions of stars you have never seen before.

Day six … Before dawn wake up to see the wilderness awaken to a new day, a wilderness almost untouched by man – cheek the vast herds of Wildebeest – Springbok – Gemsbok (oryx) – the biggest flying bird of all Africa – the Koribastard – look the Giant Eagle Owl in the eye – return to base camp for another night under the starlit sky, in wonderful accommodation.

Day seven … After another early morning search for the cats of the Kalahari return to breakfast in the camp. Leave the Kalahari Gemsbok Park for a visit to the Bushman in the Kalahari – unforgettable experience, an almost forgotten culture – continue through the wonderfully shaped sand dunes to Upington – Calvinia – Capital of the sheep farming industry of South Africa for overnight.

Day eight … After breakfast visit Nieuwouldville,onto Clanwilliam. Visit the Ramskop Wildflower Reserve, overlooking the Clanwilliam dam – perhaps
visit the Rooibos teaboard for a guided tour – travel back to Cape Town through the Citrus plantations, along the Olifant River – Citrusdal – Malmesbury – the breadbasket of the Cape, with its rolling wheatfields. Arrive in Cape Town, having watched the Table Mountain from afar and feeling nostalgic about having seen the most natural beauty of South Africa and wishing it would never end here, with the most magnificent view of Table Mountain.

Arrive in Cape Town approx. 17h30.
