The Itinery:
Day 1: Arrive Nairobi. Transfer to Nairobi Serena for overnight
Day 2: Depart Nairobi descending into the Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara. Currently The Great Migration is ongoing as Wildebeest, Zebra and Gazelle cross the Mara river from the Serengeti.
Day 2, 3, 4: Accommodation at a Mara Simba Lodge on Full Board
Day 5: Travel up the Rift Valley to Nakuru. Home of the Flamingoes. With other excursions such as Lake Elementaita, Menegai Crater, Hot Springs, and abundant game, you will be spoilt for choice whilst staying here.
Day 5, 6: Accommodation at Nakuru Family Cottage Mbweha Camp on Full Board.
Day 7: Depart Nakuru and head towards Africa’s 2nd highest mountain, Mt Kenya. Described as one of the most impressive landscapes in Eastern Africa with its rugged glacier-clad summits, Afro-alpine moorlands and diverse forests that illustrate outstanding ecological processes.
Day 8, 9: Accommodation at Mountain Lodge. Full Board. With a watering hole right on it’s doorstep, the animals come to you.
Day 10: Travel south towards Africa’s highest mountain and the highest free-standing mountain in the World, Mt. Kilimanjaro. Right on its slopes is Amboseli National Park, reknonwn for its magnificent Elephant herds. A great opportunity to spot more of the ‘Big Five’.
Accommodation will be at Amboseli Serena Lodge on Full Board.
Day 11: Depart to the coastal city of Mombasa.
Day 11, 12: Accommodation at Bamburi Beach Hotel on Half Board.
Day 13: Depart Mombasa and head up towards Nairobi, overnight halfway at Tsavo West. The Park boasts of a savannah ecosystem comprising of open grasslands, scrublands, and Acacia woodlands, belts of riverine vegetation and rocky ridges. Major wildlife attractions include elephant, rhino, Hippos, lions, cheetah, leopards, Buffalos, diverse plant and bird species including the threatened corncrake and near threatened Basra Reed Warbler. Recent Volcanoes, lava flows and caves with potential for geological and cave exploration and hiking make this a must on any itinerary. Places to visit include Mzima Springs which has an underwater hippo and fish watching area.
Day 13, 14: Accommodation at Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge on Full Board
Day 15: Depart Kilaguni and arrive into Nairobi and transfer to Airport with ample time for onward flight home.
