Detailed Description:
Leave Cape
Town via Settlers Way, the Pass used by the early settlers. Stop for a tea break at the most historical wine estate
in Somerset West - Vergelegen anno 1700 - "Estate with exceptional pleasure". Continue via Sir Lowry's Pass through
the apple and pear orchards to Hermanus. Drive up Rotary way and feast your eyes on the most beautiful seascape,
Walker Bay, with the whales plunging in and out the water. This is a great sight to the behold. Descend into Hermanus
- the playground of the rich and famous. Listen to the sounds of the whales at the Old Harbour whale museum with
live recordings. The whales often get so close you can literally almost touch them. They fill the bay during the
months of July to December. Outside the whale season the scenery will leave a lasting impression which constantly confirms what the first explorers got so excited about. Hermanus is a holiday makers dream. Endless perfectly white beaches, mountains, sea, water sports, golf and much more. Lunch at the Burgundy Hotel or similar. Return to Cape Town via Betty's Bay and the Harold Porter Nature Reserve with its orchards and red disa. This is botanist paradise. Travel to Cape Hangklip and a breathtaking seascape. View Cape Point from across False Bay at Gordon's Bay and the Strand. Arrive in Cape Town 1 7h30 after a tour that is well worth the venture. |
